No Bars, No Halloween In Starr County

Bars aren’t opening yet nor will there be any non-municipal Halloween parties this year in Starr County.

On Monday, Valley Central reported that Starr County Judge Eloy Vera’s decision is based on COVID-19 concerns. In his statement, Judge Vera says the prevalence of COVID-19 positive cases makes it too early to allow for large public gatherings in close quarters typical inside bars and gatherings at holiday festivity events such as Halloween.

The statement says the difficult decision was made after consulting with public health officials.
