No injuries have been reported after a plane left the runway at Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport Sunday.

A spokesperson said the plane experienced a mechanical issue around 5 p.m. and got stuck in a grassy area. That led the airport to issue an advisory that flights could be delayed or canceled.

Flight operations returned to normal later in the evening, and the airport advised travelers to contact their airlines for updated flight information.
