Officials Kick Off Produce Season In Pharr

Officials in Pharr kick off produce season with a ceremony at Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge. The event held Thursday served to inaugurate the new season at the port of entry where most of the fresh produce from outside the U.S. crosses into the country.

The Pharr-Reynosa bridge crossings account for 65-percent of all fresh produce coming into the country. The Monitor reported yesterday that the fresh produce season runs from October through May.
