A McAllen man is dead after a weekend crash near Alice. The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened on U.S. 281 North around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.

A southbound Toyota Solara reportedly hit the back of a tractor-trailer and then crossed into the northbound lanes, crashing into a GMC Sierra. The Solara caught fire, killing the driver, 51-year-old Lee Roy Rodriguez of McAllen. The driver of the Sierra, 29-year-old Brian Cisneros of Edinburg, was flown to Corpus Christi following the crash, which is still under investigation.
