More than two-dozen citations are handed out to businesses in El Paso County this weekend for not observing COVID-19 restrictions. County Judge Ricardo Samaniego made the announcement in a meeting Monday, saying his new lockdown edict is needed because COVID-19 cases have recently filled up El Paso hospitals to capacity.
County officials decided yesterday on the creation of a shutdown enforcement task force. The COVID-19 compliance force will be made up of five teams of law enforcement and code compliance officers working overtime and funded with federal CARES Act dollars.
