Pandemic-Caused Inability To Work Rises In August


Working Americans are still seeing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Labor Department says the number of people unable to work last month due to a business closing was at five-point-six million, increasing from five-point-two million in July. That number also takes into account lost business caused by the pandemic.

Meantime, the department says nearly 13-and-a-half percent of those who do have a job teleworked from home last month.
