Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick says the findings of a state audit of Texas Southern University are “beyond disturbing.”
Patrick commented Wednesday on the audit released this week, which found “significant” financial weaknesses at TSU. He says his office, along with Governor Greg Abbott and House Speaker Dustin Burrows, has ended all spending by the Houston university other than standard expenses needed to keep the school open.
Patrick previously called for the Texas Rangers to investigate possible criminal wrongdoing at TSU.
