Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick will chair President Donald Trump’s new commission on religious liberty. The commission’s establishment was announced on Thursday during the National Day of Prayer celebration at the White House.
Trump’s executive order says the commission will report on threats to religious liberty in the US. The commission’s vice-chair will be Ben Carson, the Secretary of HUD in Trump’s first administration. Other members include TV host Dr. Phil McGraw, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, and various religious leaders. Members of the commission will serve at least until July 4th, 2026.
