Peñitas Man Sentenced On Federal Drug Charges

A Peñitas man gets sentenced to federal prison on drug smuggling charges. Jorge Tavarez was sentenced to 60-months in federal prison yesterday.

The case stems from Tavarez’s role in a plan to traffic ten kilos of cocaine from the Valley to North Carolina back in 2017. The judge also ordered the 39-year-old to serve four years of supervised probation once his prison sentence is completed.
