Poll: Government Doing Too Many Things

Americans think the government is doing too much.  That’s the conclusion from a new Gallup poll which found 52-percent say the government is taking on roles that individuals and businesses should do.  Forty-three percent want more action from the government.  The numbers are a shift from just last year at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.  That’s when 54-percent said the government needed to do more.

Breaking the survey down by party, 80-percent of Republicans say the government is trying to do too much.  On the other hand, 70-percent of Democrats say elected officials should be taking more action on issues facing the nation.
