By A new poll says the top Texas Democrat in the race for US Senate next year isn’t even in the running. The poll of likely voters by the University of Houston and Texas Southern University says US Representative Jasmine Crockett of Dallas leads state Representative James Talarico of Austin by six points.
Crockett has twice the support of former US Representative Colin Allred, who lost his challenge to GOP Senator Ted Cruz last year. Beto O’Rourke is tied with Talarico. Neither O’Rourke nor Crockett has declared a candidacy for the Senate.
