President Of South Texas College Announces Retirement

The president of South Texas College is retiring. Shirley Reed told the board of the college on Tuesday that she plans to end her time at the school on January 4th.

Reed was named president when the college was founded as South Texas Community College in 1993 and has seen the campus grow from about a thousand students then to just under 30-thousand today. The college plans to formally announce her departure before the end of this week.
