A public official in Cameron County is facing charges after allegedly shooting and killing his neighbor’s cat. Primera Public Works Director Luis Alberto Perez was arrested for animal cruelty and deadly conduct on Sunday and was given a 30-thousand-dollar bond.
A neighbor called the sheriff’s office after his cat was shot and killed early Sunday morning. Video taken by the neighbor allegedly showed Perez pointing and firing a shotgun at an occupied home. Perez reportedly admitted to shooting at the animal during an interview with a deputy.
