A professional golfer is being recognized for his generosity by the City of McAllen. The city celebrated Abraham Ancer Day at Champion Lakes Golf Course on Monday.

Ancer recently donated 100-thousand dollars to help build a short-game practice area at the golf course. Ancer was born in McAllen and became a professional golfer in 2013. A commemorative plaque dedicated to Ancer was also unveiled during the ceremony.
