Probe Into Why Several Dallas County Polling Places Were Closed For Hours

The Dallas County Elections Administrator is investigating reports that several polling locations were closed for hours during Saturday’s elections. The Express Vote machines weren’t working or were having other problems at a number of voting sites around the county.

A City Council candidate, who missed being in a runoff by 25-votes, grumbled that the problems took place in two of the highest-voting precincts for black voters, and affected a race with six black candidates. County elections officials say the closures added up to more than 13-hours of voting time that was lost.
