The police chief in Progreso is accusing the city of failing to pay him overtime for taking care of an aggressive police dog. Cesar Solis filed his lawsuit against the city on Friday. He says officials asked him to begin caring for the dog in 2022 after it bit two city employees.

Solis says he cared for the dog for more than two years but didn’t receive any overtime for doing so. His lawsuit asks for compensation for the unpaid overtime, damages and legal fees.
