Governor Greg Abbott is on a statewide tour that is outlining his property tax reduction plan.
On Tuesday, he visited the Houston suburb of League City. His plan seeks to limit cities, counties and school districts from hiking taxes. There is also a push to limit property appraisals.
The governor says increasing the homestead exemption won’t fix the problems because it gets eroded over time.
