Proposition 4 on the November ballot will be the state’s biggest investment in water supply in the history of Texas. Voters are being asked to approve 20 billion dollars for water projects over the next 20 years.

The bill would create a dedicated funding source for water, wastewater, and flood infrastructure projects statewide.

No new taxes would be involved. Starting in 2027, up to a billion dollars in state sales tax revenue would be deposited into the Texas Water Fund in every year that sales tax collections top 46-point-five billion dollars.
