A federal prosecutor is revealing more details about the arrest of an Edinburg North student on federal gun charges. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Guerra talked about the arrest of 18-year-old Kinzey Lira during a hearing in federal court yesterday.
Lira reportedly told investigators that he was selling THC vapes at the school and felt like he needed some protection.
Guerra says rubber bands were wrapped around the gun’s grips to help Lira control it when fired on full automatic. Lira was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon in a school zone and will be held in federal custody until his detention hearing next week.
