Recent Migrant Influx On Southern Border Prompts Agent Transfers From Northern Border

Some Border Patrol agents on the U.S.-Canada border are being moved to the U.S.-Mexico border to help handle another influx of immigrants into the U.S.

The Customs and Border Protection Bureau has confirmed the agent reassignments, many of whom are being sent to the Rio Grande Valley although no specific number has been provided.

The CBP says more migrants were detained along the U.S. southern border in January than in the same month the previous three years. The spike in illegal crossings comes as the Biden administration dismantles the restrictive immigration and asylum polices imposed by the Trump administration.
