There will be an elevated risk of wildfires in South Texas today. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the region that will remain in effect until 7 p.m.

Winds are expected to remain steady at 25 to 35 miles an hour, with gusts between 45 and 55. Forecasters say any outdoor fire could spread quickly across a large area.
