By Congressman Al Green is blaming Republicans for the federal government shutdown. The Houston Democrat held a press conference on Thursday to comment on the potential effects of the ongoing shutdown on local SNAP recipients.
Green claimed the GOP could end the shutdown since they control the White House and both houses of Congress. In fact, the Republicans fall short of the 60 votes they need to end Democratic obstruction in the Senate.
