McAllen and Brownsville along with other Texas border cities are considered to be among the country’s safest. On Tuesday, a report in Axios cites FBI data from 2019 which ranks cities according to violent crime and property crime rates. Brownsville, El Paso, Laredo, Del Rio and McAllen are in the lowest tier in both categories.

Valley Central reports that McAllen Chief of Police Victor Rodriguez says property crime and violent crime are at their lowest levels there in 35 years.
