Residents Vote To Create City of Starbase In South Texas

SpaceX now has its own city. Residents of Cameron County on the southern tip of Texas voted on Saturday to create the city of Starbase, centered around a SpaceX facility on the Gulf Coast near the Mexican border.

Voters also selected the town’s first mayor and two city commissioners, all of whom are SpaceX employees. CEO Elon Musk announced the news on X, and posted, “Starbase, Texas is now a real city.”
