San Antonio Declares Emergency Alert Over Rising COVID-19 Cases


The City of San Antonio and Bexar County have issued an emergency alert in response to the severe risk threat that COVID-19 poses to the community. Officials say area hospitals are experiencing severe stress from the increasing number of cases.

Officials are urging everyone to get their vaccine shots because almost 90 percent of the people being admitted to hospitals are unvaccinated. They also say 88 percent of the new cases are connected to the Delta variant.
