San Antonio Rodeo Proceeding Despite Pandemic

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is so far going ahead as planned this year, despite the pandemic. Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff has contacted rodeo officials asking them to call it off.

PR Manager Lauren Sides says the rodeo’s safety precautions actually exceed state and local health guidelines. Wolff acknowledges that the lease the rodeo has with the county gives it the right to go ahead as long as pandemic precautions are enforced, but he’s not sure that can be done with large crowds.

The rodeo starts of Thursday of next week. It will be held at the Freeman Coliseum instead of the AT&T Center this year.
