The president of a school board in Wharton County is stepping down after being charged with child pornography.
The criminal complaint states that Jerry Svatek Junior spoke with an undercover officer in an online chat room about sex acts with a child. He was arrested last Tuesday after a traffic stop and agents found images on his phone.
The Boling ISD Board released a statement, stating they would not comment further, but by Friday he was removed from the board’s website and Saturday it was confirmed Svatek is stepping down.
