Starting today private schools in Texas can apply to be part of the newly-passed school choice program. Comptroller Kelly Hancock says there are about two-thousand private schools in Texas. He predicts more than half will sign up today.
Parents can begin applying in February. Those selected will be able to pull their kid from public school and use tax dollars to send them to private school.
