Searchers have recovered the body of a boater who was reported missing after launching from South Padre Island Saturday. The Coast Guard says the body was spotted by an air crew Monday and recovered by a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department boat crew.
The boater whose name hasn’t yet been released had launched from the West Polaris Boat Ramp at noon Saturday and didn’t return that evening when he said he would. An air and water search of the Laguna Madre turned up the person’s 18-foot vessel but there was no one on board.
