Houston police are trying to identify a would-be armed robber who was shot and killed by the owner of a donut shop early Thursday. Officers responded around 6:15 a.m. to the shooting at Snowflake Donuts on Winkler near Howard Drive, not far from the Gulf Freeway.

Investigators say a man between 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black hoodie and carrying a gun, entered the store to rob the business. The owner shot the suspect, who died at the scene. A grand jury will decide whether charges will be filed.
