Federal investigators have arrested 16 people after a Monday raid in Mercedes. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents received a tip about the alleged stash house on Sunday.
Officers from the Mercedes Police Department conducted a welfare check at the property, and the owner reportedly admitted to harboring 16 people there.
ICE says the people arrested on Monday came from Nepal, Albania, Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala. Charges in the case are pending.
