Conroe ISD is implementing a new state law requiring Ten Commandments displays in public classrooms, and some parents don’t like it.

The law took effect on Monday and requires that all K-12 public classrooms display a 16-by-20 copy of the commandments as they appear in the King James Bible. Some parents say the law is unconstitutional, and others say it interferes with parents’ rights about their children’s religious instruction.

Parents opposing the law plan to sound off at the next school board meeting on September 16th.
