South Padre Island Extends COVID-19 Beach Operations Order

South Padre Island is extending an emergency order implementing restrictions on beach operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The council acted Wednesday to extend the current order until February 18th. The order prohibits canopies and pop-up tents on the beach and requires all shade structures to be spaced at least 15-feet apart.

Only two chairs per shade structure are permitted and nothing can be set up between the structures.
