South Texas Luby’s Locations Likely To Remain Open Following Sale Announcement

Four Luby’s locations in the Rio Grande Valley are likely to remain open now that the chain has found a buyer.

Luby’s Inc. announced yesterday it was selling the brand and 32 Texas-based restaurants to Chicago catering executive Calvin Gin. Gin says he plans to keep the chain’s current locations open and provide “long-term employment opportunities” to workers.

There is no word on when the deal with Gin will be finalized. Luby’s currently has locations in Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen and Pharr.
