Southwest Airlines CEO: Will Not Fire Unvaccinated Employees

0

The CEO of Southwest Airlines says employees who don’t comply with President Biden’s vaccine mandate will not lose their jobs.

Gary Kelly made the announcement on Thursday during a call about the company’s third-quarter earnings. Kelly’s comments indicate a change in the Dallas-based carrier’s stance on the federal vaccine mandate.

Earlier this month, Southwest said all employees would have to be fully vaccinated by December 8th or be terminated. Kelly now says that approach doesn’t make sense.
