STAAR Test Will Still Happen, No A-F School Ratings

Texas students will still need to take the STAAR this year. Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath announced the plan Thursday saying it’s important to gage the student learning progress although it won’t be used for accountability purposes. He says there will be no A-F school ratings this school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Morath is still a fan of the school ratings, but says school operations have been disrupted too much to use them at the moment.
