Starr County officials say they will soon have one of the ultra-low temperature refrigerators needed to store the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.
Ordered three months ago, the super-cold refrigerator is expected to be delivered to Starr County Memorial Hospital within the next week. County officials are hoping that having the refrigerator will finally bring shipments of the Pfizer vaccine.
So far, the county has received only the Moderna vaccine which does not need super-cold storage. County officials say they’re prepared to conduct mass vaccination clinics once they receive a significant allocation of the vaccine.
