Starr County Lifts Shelter-At-Home Order But Urges Residents To Hold To Its Recommendations

After two weeks, Starr County is lifting its stay-at-home order and also reopening the coronavirus testing sites. The move comes as coronavirus cases in Starr County have stabilized, although there’ve been more people wanting to get tested.

In making the announcement, county Judge Eloy Vera says an overnight curfew will remain in place and that health officials are still strongly recommending residents continue to wear a face covering, keep their hands clean, and keep a physical distance from one another.

Officials also say the county has applied to receive the anti-viral treatment the state is now distributing, and is making preparations to receive doses of the coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available.
