Federal investigators have charged a South Texas state trooper with trying to solicit sex from a minor. Thirty-nine-year-old Christian Estrada of Laredo was arrested earlier this year after an undercover operation by the FBI.
Investigators say Estrada expressed interest in having sex with a 12-year-old girl in social media conversations between April and December of last year.
A search of his home allegedly found evidence that he was talking to several minors on platforms like Snapchat. He was suspended by the Texas Department of Safety after his January arrest and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
