UT San Antonio is reassigning student housing in order to comply with the state’s so-called bathroom bill. Senate Bill 8 takes effect on Thursday of this week, requiring people to use public bathrooms that match their biological sex.
The bill will apply to city and county buildings, agency buildings, and public schools and universities.
UTSA sent emails to affected students telling them the Housing and Residence Life team will help them relocate. University officials say about 30 students are affected by the change.
