Study: Memory Loss, Brain Fog Possible Side Effects Of COVID-19

A new study says long-term side effects of COVID-19 could include memory loss and cognitive issues commonly known as “brain fog.”

The study of patients in New York’s Mount Sinai Health System found a 24-percent increase in difficulty with such things as storing a phone number in your head by repeating it out loud several times.

Researchers found a 23-percent decline in memory recall. Other side effects included taking longer to perform mental tasks along with difficulty setting and completing goals.
