A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a suspect accused of stabbing a man to death in Edinburg. Thirty-eight-year-old Ramiro Escobar was accused of the murder of Miguel Alonso at an apartment complex in Edinburg in 2020.
Investigators said Escobar admitted to fighting Ramirez before stabbing him to death. The judge overseeing the case declared a mistrial last week. It’s the second time Escobar’s trial has been stopped due to a hung jury. Hidalgo County’s D.A. has not decided whether to try Escobar again or try to reach a plea deal.
