A man has been charged with murder after a deadly weekend shooting in rural Edinburg.

Hidalgo County deputies were called to the 45-hundred block of Fe Drive just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. They found 26-year-old Julio Cesar Soto Junior dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses say 32-year-old Freddy Mireles shot Soto with a rifle while they were singing together. Mireles was arraigned on Monday and was given a two-point-five-million-dollar bond.
