Tesla, Pappas Sued Over Autopilot Car Accident That Injured Five Cops

Tesla and Pappas Restaurants are the defendants in a lawsuit over a traffic accident that injured five police officers in Montgomery County.

In February, a Tesla Model X with its Autopilot engaged ran into the officers, who were conducting a traffic stop on the Eastex Freeway near East River Road. All five were badly injured.

The lawsuit claims Tesla knew about problems with the Autopilot system that led to the accident, but failed to correct them. The lawsuit also claims the driver of the Tesla had been overserved alcohol at a Pappasito’s Cantina before the accident.
