Texas A&M To Begin Advanced Manufacturing Training Program

Texas A&M will be working to train thousands of South Texas residents for careers in advanced manufacturing.  The university plans to train up to ten-thousand young men and women as part of a new initiative announced yesterday during an event held at the Port of Brownsville.  The two-year program will offer training toward certification in both English and Spanish using ten-million-dollars in state funding.  Officials hope the program will be successful enough that it will be extended beyond its initial two-year timeframe.
