The Texas Democratic Party is reportedly considering sanctions against South Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar.
The Texas Tribune says the measure would condemn the Laredo Democrat for actions that disregarded the interests and values of the state party. That includes votes for Republican bills like the SAVE Act, never hosting an in-person town hall and being indicted on federal corruption charges.
Reported sanctions include ending state support for future political campaigns and barring Cuellar from Democratic Party events. A vote on the measure is expected next week.
