Republican candidates for state-level offices in Texas are enjoying much more success at fundraising than their Democratic opponents.
Campaign finance reports last week revealed huge GOP advantages in the second half of 2025. Governor Greg Abbott clobbered State Representative Gina Hinojosa of Austin, his Democratic challenger.
The same is true of Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and state Representative Vikki Goodwin of Austin. The GOP plans to use its funds to support down-ballot races, such as Abbott’s plan to flip Harris County.
