Texas Governor Ready To Back Police

Gov. Greg Abbott says he’s ready to sign a bill that would ban cities from defunding police. Police groups across the state are happy with Abbott’s decision.

Charley Wilkison is the leader of CLEAT, which is the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas. He claims crime goes up in cities that defund police. The Texas State House also passed a bill that prevents local governments from cutting law enforcement budgets without voter approval.
