In anticipation of a COVID-19 vaccine, Texas health officials have begun enrolling health care providers who want to receive and administer a vaccine. The Texas Department of Health Services is sending word that interested providers can register online now.
The state’s public health director for the South Texas region, Dr. Emilie Prot, says department officials are currently working to build public and private partnerships to plan the logistics of a statewide vaccination program. She says providers are being encouraged to enroll as soon as possible to avoid any delays once the vaccination is available. Some vaccine candidates are currently in phase three trials.
