Texas Senate Debating Elections Bill

The Texas Senate is debating the elections bill, which caused House and Senate Democrats to leave the state.

Senate Republicans are defending SB 1 saying it will prevent voter fraud and make elections more secure. Democrats have complained the bill could make it harder for minorities and the disabled to vote.

The bill would ban drive-through voting. Multiple Democrats are not at the Texas Capitol, but not enough to prevent a quorum.
